Family Fun

Yesterday, my folks came into town and stopped by to see me and for dad to work on my car. Things went even better than planned. I got a chance to talk to my mom about the divorce and she was very supportive like I needed. My dad managed to figure out what’s wrong with my 4runner (one of the cv joints was toast), and put almost a full tank of gas in it. The icing on the cake was A thought my dad might appreciate a cold soda, especially since she drinks his favorite, and he ended up having her help him finish up the job. He said at one point, “wow you actually know what you’re doing even though you’re a girl”, lol. My dad is obviously so old school. I’m hopeful that a few more positive interactions life this will warm my parents to my gay relationship in general, and A specifically.

The Pain of Partners

I’m a supremely empathetic person; I hate to see anyone suffer (except the ex and his little gf) but especially hate to see my partners in pain. I woke up to find A writhing in pain, escalating quickly to vomiting, which was just bile for a bit but began to include blood. Took her to the ER closest to us, but they just gave her a pain shot with some anti-nausea meds and discharged her. They didn’t draw blood or do any GI testing, just took her vitals and called it a tension headache or migraine, prescribed phenergan and percocet, and sent her on her way. This made me completely livid and I almost went off on some nurses, but decided it would be better to get her treated elsewhere with better doctors. While this isn’t how i planned to spend one of my days off, I am so glad that I’m available for her and able to stay with her throughout this ordeal… hopefully I’ll have something good to talk about later today…

A is thankfully doing better now, but it was an incredibly frustrating time where I wanted to help make her feel better and stop her pain, but the "professionals" were completely unhelpful. Ahh, the joys of both of us having fairly severe medical conditions to watch out for.

Holy Poly?

I am frequently told that polyamory would never be endorsed by the Bible, and am given various snippets of the Bible that possibly infer various things if you extrapolate them in a certain way, so I figured I would add one of my own. **continue reading http://polymyway.wordpress.com/2013/04/21/holy-poly/ **
